Start off your summer with our Channel Surfing TV picks. Young adults try to balance their personal and professional lives in Not Suitable for Work. The folks at Critical Role bring us an all-new season of The Legend of Vox Machina. Then, Interview with the Vampire receives a name change in The Vampire Lestat.
Stepping into the Real World
Not Suitable for Work follows five 20-somethings living in the Manhattan neighborhood of Murray Hill. They all are focused on their career, but if time allows, maybe they can find some personal happiness as well.
The series is created by Mindy Kaling who also serves as executive producer along with showrunner Charlie Grady and Howard Klein. It stars Ella Hunt, Avantika, Will Angus, Jack Martin, Nicholas Duvernay, and Jay Ellis.
The first three episodes of Not Suitable for Work drop Tuesday, June 2, on Hulu.
Classic Vox Mox
Critical Role follows a group of professional voice actors playing Dungeons & Dragons. The people behind the web series took their initial campaign and turned it into the animated series The Legend of Vox Machina.
It returns for the fourth season this week. The setting is a year after the Chroma Conclave with the members separated pursuing their own personal lives. When an evil emerges looking to take over the realm, the heroes reunite to confront the threat.
The three-episode season four premiere of The Legend of Vox Machina releases Wednesday, June 3, on Prime Video.
Living Like a Rockstar
Interview with the Vampire spent its first two seasons telling the story from Louis de Pointe du Lac’s point of view. The latest season will shift its focus and show events from the perspective of Lestat de Lioncourt.
With the new perspective comes a new name, The Vampire Lestat. Lestat is not too pleased with his portrayal in the best selling fictional memoir that Louis helped with. He responds by creating his own band and going on tour. While on the road, he films a documentary to tell his side.
The Vampire Lestat premieres Sunday, June 7, on AMC.
