Top Cow announces one-shot ‘The Clay People: Colossus’

‘The Clay People: Colossus’ inspired by heavy metal band’s single ‘Colossus.’

Tow Cow has revealed a new one-shot on the way for Metal band lovers called The Clay People: Colossus. Partnering with EP1T0ME Studios, Inc., the comic is inspired by The Clay People’s song of the same name. The one-shot is written by Matt Hawkins and illustrated by Christian DiBari. Find it in comic shops on February 9, 2022.

“After Rich [Leibowitz] pitched Colossus, I listened to the song and the lyrics really spoke to me,” said Matt Hawkins, President at Top Cow. “My sons are bi-racial, so the story made me think; so much so that I offered to write it myself. Intolerance, drug addiction, poverty, and boredom pave a perfect storm for a revenge tale of grisly proportions!”

Dan Neet, The Clay People’s frontman reflected on the song becoming a comic saying, “I wrote the song during a dark time; I can’t believe it’s coming to life for all of our fans and others to see.”

So what’s The Clay People: Colossus about?

Colossus introduces a bi-racial teenager in middle America who, thanks to his grandfather’s last wish, unleashes an otherworld of hurt onto his tormentors.
