“After Rich [Leibowitz] pitched Colossus, I listened to the song and the lyrics really spoke to me,” said Matt Hawkins, President at Top Cow back in December. “My sons are bi-racial, so the story made me think; so much so that I offered to write it myself. Intolerance, drug addiction, poverty, and boredom pave a perfect storm for a revenge tale of grisly proportions!”

So what’s The Clay People: Colossus about?

Colossus introduces a bi-racial teenager in middle America who, thanks to his grandfather’s last wish, unleashes an otherworld of hurt onto his tormentors.

This one-shot is the second project between TOP COW and EP1T0ME, the first being St. Mercy.

TOP COW and EP1T0ME gifts metal music lovers and comic book fans a FREE Digital 20+ page preview book of their upcoming one-shot comic,THE CLAY PEOPLE: COLOSSUS, inspired by the song “Colossus” by the band The Clay People and written by matt Hawkins (THINK TANK, SWING) and Christian DiBari (MAGDALENA).

This one-shot is the second team up project between TOP COW and EP1T0ME, the first being ST. MERCY. Richard Leibowitz, EP1T0ME’s president, said “The song means different things to different people; the more we heard it, the more we envisioned a story about an underdog with new-found, out-of-control power and the ramifications that using it would bring.”
