This week’s Channel Surfing TV picks get animated and add some psychological thrills. Go vampire hunting in a new season of Castlevania: Nocturne. Harley and Ivy move to a new city in Harley Quinn. Then, revisit the shady Lumen Industries to see how both innies and outies fare in Severance season two.
Stopping the Invincible
When we last left Castlevania: Nocturne, the good guys weren’t doing so well. Not only did they lose allies by various means, the Vampire Messiah is unleashed. At least at the very end, they are saved by the son of Dracula.
In the new season, the gang are in a race against the clock to stop the Vampire Messiah from obtaining the full power of an Egyptian god. With the power, the Vampire Messiah looks to bring endless darkness and terror unto the world.

Moving to Metropolis
For Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, their home of Gotham has lost it’s allure. Though it’s difficult to leave, the couple decide to head to greener pastures from Batman’s city to Superman’s neighborhood.
But, it just seems trouble always finds its way to the pair. Despite Metropolis’ picturesque appearances, something sinister is just underneath. Harley and her gang will face off with Lex Luthor, his sister, Lena Luthor, and the super intelligent Brainiac.
Harley Quinn returns for its fifth season on Thursday, January 16, on Max.
The Repurcussions
The innies of Severance, or the worker personalities “severed” from the real world, made some real trouble for Lumen Industries in the previous season finale. Though it seems like a small victory, it’s time for the mysterious biotech company to strike back at its rebellious employees.
Mark S. and his friends will experience the consequences for playing with the severance barrier that separates work and personal life. Can they deal with all the distress? Is the punishment why we see Mark with a new group of co-workers in the trailer? Was he reassigned from Macrodata Refinement or was he given a new team to tamp down on the insubordination?
The season two of Severance premieres Friday, January 17, on Apple TV+.
