New year, new video games. There are dozens of huge games we can’t wait to get out hands on in 2025, including plenty of indies we’ll want to sink our teeth into. Great games are releasing one after the other, so let’s check out what video games are hitting storefronts this week.
Spectre Divide (2/25)
Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S
After launching last fall on PC (where it sits with a “mixed” reception on Steam), Spectre Divide heads to consoles this week. It’s a free-to-play 3v3 shooter where you interestingly control two bodies in a match, expanding your strategic options and granting a second chance after death. Season 1: Flashpoint also launches alongside the console release, offering up a new map, battle pass, and buy menu.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection (2/27)
Platforms: PC and Switch
Get ready, because it’s time to duel! Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection collects 14 games originally released for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance in the 1990s and early 2000s, some of which are being released for the first time outside of Japan with this collection. It’ll include online play for Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists (and more titles post-launch), customizable rules and controls, a digital gallery of manuals and box art, and the ability to save at any time.
Monster Hunter Wilds (2/28)
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S
The beloved Monster Hunter series returns with its first mainline launch in seven years with Monster Hunter Wilds. The exciting monster huntin’ gameplay you know and love returns. You’ll hunt across distinct biomes in open worlds that truly feel alive; monsters move around the map freely, they’ll hunt each other, and weather can affect when they show their faces. You’ll have to adapt your approach depending on the monsters’ behavior and use a variety of weapons, armor, and consumables to slay your prey.
