IDW Publishing is set to debut Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this October—a brand-new comic series spinning out of the hit Tales of the TMNT show on Paramount+. The series brings fan-favorite characters from the streaming series to comics for the very first time, alongside classic TMNT icons making their debut in this animated universe.
The series kicks off with two three-issue arcs. The first story is penned by Tales of the TMNT production team member Mikey Levitt, while the second is written by Andrew Joustra from the Mutant Mayhem team. Both stories will feature vibrant art from Louie Joyce (Godzilla: Skate or Die), who brings a fresh but faithful energy to the Turtles’ latest adventure.
“Writing for both the show and comics has opened up so many possibilities,” said Levitt. “And let’s just say: if you’re a fan of TMNT’s robot characters, you’re in for something special.”
Joustra added, “It’s a dream to reimagine my favorite character, the Fugitoid, and tell a surprisingly personal story through him. I’ve had a TON of fun with this one—ZAY no more!”
Joyce, a lifelong TMNT fan, called the project “an absolute dream,” promising a mix of humor, heart, and action that captures everything fans love about the franchise.
Tales of the TMNT #1 hits comic shops on Wednesday, October 15, with the final order cutoff set for Monday, September 8. Variant covers include artwork by Jon Lankry, with more to be revealed—plus a special New York Comic Con exclusive cover coming soon.
