Just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Oni Press and Glitch Productions have announced a brand-new publishing partnership to bring the hit animated series Murder Drones to the world of comics and graphic novels. The darkly comedic sci-fi series, already a viral sensation with over 300 million views and a passionate global fanbase, is getting its first official comic book adaptation.
The partnership kicks off with a graphic novel retelling the first season of Murder Drones, which follows a group of robot workers trying to survive obsolescence on a frozen, post-apocalyptic exoplanet while being hunted by killer “disassembly drones” and a mysterious virus known as the Absolute Solver. The graphic novel is written by Nights and Marvel United writer Wyatt Kennedy and illustrated by Jo Mi-Gyeong (Eve, Dark Crystal), with more Murder Drones comics planned to follow.
Oni Press will debut the project via Kickstarter on September 8, 2025, as part of its Oni Premium Direct line, offering collectible and deluxe editions alongside standard pre-orders. A traditional serialized release to comic shops is slated for February 2026.
Originally created by Liam Vickers and produced by Glitch co-founders Kevin and Luke Lerdwichagul, Murder Drones premiered in 2021 and quickly became a breakout hit, earning Webby Awards and recently premiering on Prime Video. It also anchors a growing merchandise line with Hot Topic, extending the series’ reach into retail stores across North America.
“Murder Drones is the perfect fit for what we do at Oni,” said Oni Press President & Publisher Hunter Gorinson. “It’s bold, weird, smart, and already a massive hit with fans who are hungry for more. We’re thrilled to be working with Glitch and creators like Wyatt Kennedy and Jo Mi-Gyeong to bring this world to life in comics.”

Fans attending Comic-Con International 2025 can stop by Glitch Productions (Booth #301) and Oni Press (Booth #1829) for early previews, exclusive merch, and giveaways tied to the upcoming release.
