Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein’s Incredible Hulk has revived Marvel’s monster-horror roots, and this November, the duo is unleashing their most terrifying creation yet in Infernal Hulk. Teased yesterday, we’ve got new details on the relaunch kicking off on November 26th.
Spinning directly out of October’s Incredible Hulk #30, the story begins after Hulk’s brutal rematch with the Eldest — the firstborn child of the Mother of Horrors. Victorious, the Eldest seizes control of Hulk’s body, transforming into the unstoppable “Infernal Hulk” and igniting a new Age of Monsters that threatens the entire Marvel Universe. Their goal: plunge the world into ancient horrors by turning Earth’s heroes into nightmare creatures. Meanwhile, a powerless but determined Bruce Banner will stop at nothing to bring them down.
“I’ve been promising Hulk fans the biggest, boldest status quo change in Hulk’s history, and that time is finally here,” Johnson said. “The next few issues of Incredible Hulk give fans all the answers they’ve been waiting for about Eldest and the Mother of Horrors, and INFERNAL HULK is the beginning of a terrifying new normal, not just for the Hulk series but for the entire Marvel Universe.”
Billed as the boldest status quo change in Hulk’s history, Infernal Hulk promises bigger, deadlier threats than ever before — with monsters whose origins reach back to the very foundations of the Earth. Johnson teases that no corner of the Marvel Universe will be spared by the time this horror-fueled saga ends.
