Pokémon GO has officially raised its level cap from 50 to 80 on October 15, 2025. This also allows gamers to level up more often than ever before and earn many rewards as they play.
According to a Pokémon GO press release, when the updated system goes live, all Trainers at level 23 or higher will automatically gain at least one level. The amount of XP required to advance may also be changed. And, the current Level-Up Research tasks for levels 41–50 will be replaced with new tasks for levels 71–80. After reaching level 70, trainers will have a higher chance of becoming “Lucky Friends” with their “Best Friends”.
