Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading games, IP, and toy company Hasbro, have announced that The Transformers: The Movie deluxe edition will be available in comic shops on August 12, 2026. The new collection comes right in time to celebrate the Transformer film’s 40th anniversary.
“THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE hit like a lightning bolt, anyone who’s seen it (including me!) has at least one moment forever burned into their memory,” said Senior Editor Nachie Marsham. “Reprinting both the original and the 20th anniversary adaptations in this new volume is a great way for folks to experience it all over again!”
The new collection brings together both classic comic book adaptations, THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE #1–3 from Marvel and THE TRANSFORMERS: THE ANIMATED MOVIE #1–4 from IDW, into one cinematic experience. Featuring work from writers Ralph Macchio and Bob Budiansky, artists Don Perlin, Ian Akin, Brian Garvey, Don Figueroa, and new cover art by the talented Sean Murphy (Batman: White Knight).
THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE Deluxe Edition (ISBN: To Come | SRP: $34.99) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and at booksellers, along with digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
