Due to strong demand from comic shops, New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident is heading back to stores with a second printing.
The issue features a group of writers that includes Joseph P. Illidge (Milestone Universe: The Shadow Cabinet), Stephanie Williams (Wonder Woman), Morgan Hampton (Green Lantern Corps), and Nikolas Draper-Ivey (Static: Shadows of Dakota). Artwork comes from Carlo Pagulayan (Superman: Lost), Valentine De Landro (Mr. Terrific: Year One), Edwin Galmon (Superman), and others. The cover lineup includes work by Diego Olortegui, Denys Cowan, Dan Jurgens, Yasmine Putri, Carlo Pagulayan, and Sway. The story positions Dakota City as a major flashpoint in DC history, with consequences that continue to echo across the wider universe.
For the second printing, Dan Mora provides a new variant cover. The main cover by Diego Olortegui will also return with an updated logo color.

Expanding on the events introduced in DC’s New History of the DC Universe, the issue uncovers a previously unseen chapter in the publisher’s timeline. A murder ignites a conflict between the heroes of Dakota City and the U.S. government under the leadership of Lex Luthor. As their city turns into a battlefield, Static, Rocket, and their allies must decide how far they are willing to go to protect the people they care about. The story also plants seeds in the past that may shape the heroes’ future.
The issue first released on February 25 and quickly sold through its initial distribution run, drawing strong interest from both readers and retailers. The story explores the key events that shaped the Milestone Universe while connecting them more directly to the larger DC timeline.
With demand still rising, the new printing gives fans another chance to pick up this chapter in the history of Dakota City and the DC Universe. New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident second printing arrives in comic shops on April 22, 2026.
