‘Top Chef’ season 23 Power Rankings: Week 2

Top Chef gets spicy this week.

Top Chef is back for another week, but one contestant lighter. The competition doesn’t stop and everyone faced a new set of challenges. Things started off cool, but later, the heat really turned up,

Season twelve winner, Mei Lin, entered the kitchen bearing gifts. She carried cartons of various Talenti gelato flavors. Each flavor corresponded with a different region of the world. The quickfire involved creating a savory dish that highlighted the ingredients of the specific region that also paired well with the gelato flavor. Talenti not only provided their sweet treats, but also the $10,000 cash prize.

The mood turned a little more spicy for the elimination challenge. The region is known for developing the Carolina Reaper, one of the world’s hottest chili peppers. The chefs were divided into two teams of seven. They needed to create a seven course meal with each dish progressively hotter than the previous one. To educate themselves more on the subject of peppers, the contestants visited the appropriately named Puckerbutt Farms.

The results from this week’s episode caused some shake-ups. Let’s take a look at the Top Chef Power Rankings for the second week.
