So many video games, so little time! 2026 is already shaping up to be a big year in terms of gaming. With back-to-back releases, here are the video games hitting your stores this week.
Aphelion (4/28)
Platform: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Aphelion is a 3rd person action-adventure game that takes place on a frozen, uncharted planet of Persephone. It is said that by 2060, Earth will soon become uninhabitable. The story follows dual protagonists – Ariane and Thomas, who are astronauts dispatched by the ESA to scout Persephone and find out if the planet can be humanity’s hope for survival. However, during landing, our heroes get separated and have to brave the dangers of an unknown terrain on their own. Aphelion blends exploration, traversal, and stealth gameplay, accompanied by a bold narrative in true DON’T NOD fashion.
Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred (4/28)
Platform: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC
Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is the next major follow-up expansion to 2025’s Vessel of Hatred, where Mephisto takes the spotlight as the big bad. To dismantle Mephisto’s hold, the players have to form unlikely alliances and fight their way through Nahantu, the new region of Skovos, and other areas of Sanctuary where the lord of hatred has established control. Apart from the addition of a new region, the expansion has included two new classes – Paladin and Warlock, a reworked skill tree, and the highly anticipated feature: new loot filter. The upcoming DLC also introduces advanced mechanics, such as the Horadric Cube and Talismans & Charm Sets, to elevate player customization to a whole new level.
Saros (4/30)
Platform: PlayStation 5
Returnal‘s spiritual successor, Saros, is the next big sci-fi, PlayStation-exclusive adventure from Housemarque. You play as Arjun Devraj, a Solitari Enforcer who is in search of someone within Carcosa, a lost off-world, shape-shifting alien planet under a mysterious eclipse. Saros follows a similar structure to Returnal, a third-person shooter with roguelike elements. Arjun sets out deeper and deeper into Carcosa in every run across multiple different biomes, crawling with enemies. At the start of each run, players can choose a loadout that is a mix of Solatari and Cacosan weaponry. Apart from suit and skill upgrades, Arjun has the “Second Chance” ability, which allows players to rise back up on first death.
Invincible VS (4/30)
Platform: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Invincible VS is a fast-paced and brutal 3v3 fighting game featuring a roster from the Invincible Universe. Players can seamlessly switch between fighters and deal devastating chain combos that will help fill the combo meter during battles. When a certain character is out of the fight arena, they can gain a small percentage of lost health. This added strategy is there to push players into swapping characters during matches. Invincible VS has three modes: traditional arcade, training, and multiplayer. Additionally, the game consists of a cinematic story mode that includes an original story set within the universe in collaboration with the series creator, Robert Kirkman.
