Exclusive preview: Undying Love: Not Dead Yet returns in a giant-sized remastered hardcover

One of comics’ most acclaimed vampire stories returns with a massive remastered hardcover edition packed with new extras and a path toward the long-awaited next chapter.

Few vampire stories in comics have left as lasting an impression as Undying Love. First published by Image Comics in 2011, the graphic novel blended horror, action, romance, and Chinese folklore into a tragic tale of devotion and bloodshed. Now, fifteen years later, creators Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman are bringing the story back in a remastered oversized hardcover edition through Kickstarter.

AIPT can exclusively share a preview of Undying Love: Not Dead Yet, giving readers a look at the stunning new presentation of the beloved graphic novel.

Set in modern-day Hong Kong, Undying Love follows former soldier John Sargent, a man willing to risk everything for the woman he loves. The problem is that Mei is a vampire, cursed to spend eternity trapped between life and death. Determined to free her, Sargent embarks on a mission to kill the ancient vampire responsible for her transformation. Standing in his way is one of the most powerful vampires in history.

The story’s blend of supernatural horror, martial arts action, and tragic romance helped it stand out upon its original release, earning critical acclaim and developing a passionate following over the years.

The new Undying Love: Not Dead Yet hardcover is designed as the definitive edition of the story. Measuring 9″ x 13″ and clocking in at a minimum of 152 pages, the oversized volume presents the entire graphic novel in remastered black-and-white artwork enhanced with gray tones and zipatone effects. The release also includes an extensive collection of bonus material, featuring never-before-seen concept art, character designs, script pages, pin-ups, and behind-the-scenes content from the creators.

Backers will also receive a digital edition of the book, while stretch goals promise to add even more pages and extras to the package.

For Coker and Freedman, the campaign represents more than a deluxe anniversary celebration. Funding the project will also help pave the way for Undying Love Volume 2, allowing the creators to continue the story as a fully creator-owned endeavor.

Kickstarter has increasingly become a destination for premium comic book editions, and Undying Love: Not Dead Yet fits squarely into that tradition. The campaign offers readers a chance to own a collector-focused edition of a modern horror classic while directly supporting the future of the franchise.
