DC Comics has announced Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1, a new 40-page one-shot bringing together the World’s Finest heroes and the legendary king of musical parody for an adventure that spans dimensions.
Written by Mark Waid, featuring “vibes” by “Weird Al” Yankovic, and illustrated by Dan Schoening, the one-shot arrives on September 2, 2026.
The story begins when a mysterious affliction sweeps through the Fifth Dimension, transforming everything strange, imaginative, and extraordinary into something painfully ordinary. As the crisis spreads to Earth, Mr. Mxyzptlk turns to Superman and Batman for help. Faced with a threat unlike any they’ve encountered before, the heroes seek assistance from an unconventional ally: “Weird Al” Yankovic.

According to DC, the issue will send the unlikely trio on a reality-bending journey packed with absurdity, surprises, and plenty of unexpected twists.
The special features a main cover by Dan Schoening alongside variant covers by Mark Spears, Riley Rossmo, Jerry Gaylord, and a foil variant by Schoening.
For comic book fans, this isn’t Yankovic’s first visit to the medium. The musician previously guest-edited an issue of MAD Magazine and recently appeared on a pair of DC variant covers, including the “Totally Normal Al” cover for Bizarro: Year None #1 and a special Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #50 variant illustrated by Dan Mora.
Now, he finally takes center stage in a full DC adventure alongside two of the publisher’s biggest icons.
