Marvel’s new Bishop ongoing series continues to dig into the time-traveling X-Man’s complicated past next month, and AIPT has your exclusive first look at unlettered pages from Bishop #2, along with a character design sheet for a brand-new member of the Final Brotherhood: Skippingstone.
Skippingstone is a descendant of two classic members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, carrying the genetic legacy of both Blob and Toad. The character joins the growing ranks of the Final Brotherhood, a future-era faction that continues to haunt Bishop’s past and threaten his present.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Bishop. According to the solicit text for issue #2, his sister Shard has returned, but not for the reunion he has spent a lifetime wishing for.
SHARD LIVES! Bishop’s sister, Shard, is back! But she’s not here for a family reunion. What is Shard’s dangerous mission? And how will her presence challenge Bishop to his core?
The debut issue of Bishop established the series as something more introspective than explosive, grounding its story in Lucas Bishop’s fractured relationship with his own history. Writer Saladin Ahmed explored Bishop’s attempts to reclaim a sense of identity while confronting memories of his sister and the future timeline that shaped him. By the final page, Ahmed had laid the groundwork for a deeply personal conflict that now appears ready to explode, especially with a descendant of Pyro and Avalanche showing up.
The return of Shard was already enough to raise the stakes, but the addition of Skippingstone and the expanding mythology of the Final Brotherhood suggests Ahmed has even bigger plans for Bishop’s future. If issue #1 was about Bishop reckoning with the past he lost, issue #2 appears poised to force him to confront the future he can never truly escape.
