Pokemon Go: How to Control Your Eevee’s Eeveelution

Want to play Poke-God in Pokemon Go and decide which of the three Eeveelutions your Eevee will evolve into? Take a page from the Pokemon anime’s Eevee Brothers’ playbook — or namebook, rather.

That’s right — it’s all in your Eevee’s name. As Reddit user smithnigel explains:

The Eevee Brothers from the original anime were named Rainer, Pyro, Sparky and they owned a Vaporeon, Flareon and Jolteon respectively. If you nickname your Eevee either Rainer, Pyro or Sparky, your Eevee will evolve into that desired Eeveelution!

1. Properly name your Eevee

Sparky = Jolteon
Rainer = Vaporeon
Pyro = Flareon

2. Restart the Pokemon Go app

Because the Pokemon Go servers have been overwhelmed and experiencing problems as of late, it’s recommended to name your Eevee with the intended evolution name and then restart Pokemon Go to ensure that the name properly went through on the server.
