Game of Thrones: The season 7 finale has an episode name

The episode title for the season finale of Game of Thrones has been revealed.

A fan from Watchers on the Wall reports that the season 7 finale of Game of Thrones will be called “The Dragon and the Wolf” — as revealed by their cable provider Sky Atlantic, which airs the series in the UK.

The most obvious pair that comes to mind when hearing that would be Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow, as we saw their chemistry elevate considerably in “Beyond the Wall,” though it could also refer to Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, whose marriage Gilly inadvertently revealed in “Eastwatch”. One more possibility? The title refers to Jon Snow himself, as he is both Targaryen and Stark — Dragon and Wolf.

We’re looking forward to seeing the Winterfell plot between Arya, Sansa and Littlefinger resolved; and seeing what the meeting at King’s Landing will be like — although we have this nagging, sinking feeling Cersei will be up to no good, as always (will she have any snide remarks for Jon as King in the North?). And will she even care about the existence of a mere wight when she has a FrankenMountain at her side?

“The Dragon and the Wolf”, the season 7 finale for Game of Thrones airs this Sunday, August 27th at 9PM on HBO.
