SNES Classic production ‘dramatically increased’

Production of SNES Classic ‘dramatically increased’

In an interview with the Financial Times (caution, paywall), Reggie Fils-Aime – President of Nintendo of America – said that not only is the company amping up the production of this year’s latest nostalgia bomb, but that it seems they’re also looking at the scalpers who have been profiting so much from the NES classic shortages.

Polygon has a quick write-up that’s worth checking out if you don’t subscribe to FT here: Nintendo Caught By Surprise By Demand for NES Classic.

If you’re like me and you had your hopes dashed twice – when Wal-Mart cancelled your preorder and when the other vendors pre-orders disappeared in seconds, then maybe this is great news. I’m still skeptical with the holidays coming – this might be the 2nd hottest item out there, just behind the still difficult to find Switch.

Hats  off to Nintendo though – having two of the hottest items rolling into December is a great place to be after the WiiU slump.

If you’re looking for more Nintendo news, make sure to tune in on Wednesday the 13th – as the next Nintendo Direct goes live at 6pm EST.
