NYCC attendees got a first look at The Tick’s spring return

‘The Tick’ returns February 23rd.

The first half of The Tick‘s first season is currently available on Amazon Prime, but the show’s New York Comic Con panel gave the audience an exclusive peek at the trailer for the second half when the series returns in February.

The trailer reveals The Tick and Arthur’s sister Dot potentially coming together to help rescue her brother, The Tick being shot out of a cannon, and lots and lots of drum solos performed by Jackie Earle Haley’s The Terror in front of a still-captive Arthur.

The producers and entire cast were present at the panel, and Tick creator Ben Edlund promised fans the rest of the season will deliver payoffs to what’s been set up thus far, describing what’s to come in colorful Tick-like metaphor: “bombs explode in your face with satisfaction.”

According to Executive Producer David Fury, “We’ll be seeing a lot more of Superian in the back half . . . We’ll be seeing a lot more Dangerboat, played by the brilliant Alan Tudyk. More Midnight. And a lot more of the Terror. The Terror, who has been mostly in hiding, will be front and center.”

Peter Serafinowicz, who plays the “Big Blue” himself, perhaps hinted at upcoming conflict for his title character when he remarked, “Only when he gets introspective do his problems begin.”

Series bosses also told fans to expect a new Arthur, one who’s no longer refusing the call to heroism and is now trying to convince others he’s a hero.
