The DC All Access channel has just posted a new video featuring a first listen of the Dark Nights: Metal soundtrack, from the recent event series by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. That’s right, DC’s big event series has a soundtrack, folks! It’s fitting this series gets a soundtrack seeing as DC has already printed rock concert t-shirts for the event.
Soundtracks in comics are nothing new and creators have been releasing Spotify playlists and printing songs to listen to in the comics themselves for ages. Just take Jeff Lemire’s recent series Royal City with each issue ending with a playlist.
The Dark Nights: Metal instrumental album is a neat concept too since it’ll add another heavy metal element to the comic book reading experience. Just imagine reading Snyder and Capullo’s pages whilst a sick guitar lick plays in the background! Composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Samurai Jack) and produced by Mike Elizando (who has worked with 50 Cent, Eminem, Maroon 5, Muse) this album is sure to be a hit with rock-n-roll fans.
