Marvel has already revealed information on an all-new X-Men title (written by Tom Taylor, art by Mahmud A. Asrar) set for release on February 8th, 2018; formed after the events of Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey and led by Jean Grey herself — X-Men: Red. From the official Marvel synopsis:
JEAN GREY is back! Returned to a world she doesn’t recognize, the First Lady of the X-MEN gathers an unlikely team — NIGHTCRAWLER, NAMOR and LAURA KINNEY (A.K.A. ALL-NEW WOLVERINE) — to face an evil that threatens to tear down XAVIER’s dream by any means necessary!
The final member of that team? Everyone’s favorite smooth-talklin’ Cajun thief turned X-Man: Gambit. Building on the momentum of recent appearances in Astonishing X-Men and X-Men: Gold and recently released mini-series, Rogue & Gambit, Gambit will both join the team and be featured on the cover of X-Men: Red #3 (drawn by Travis Charest):
Series editor Mark Paniccia had this to say about the reveal:
Things have heated up with attacks on mutants across the globe. Gambit joins fellow X-Men: Red teammates Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, All-New Wolverine, Honey Badger, Namor, Wakandan Mutant Gentle, and brand-new member Trinary this April in X-Men: Red #3.
