Batman #39 spoilers: Batman forgot to set his watch again

Batman and Wonder Woman go on an adventure like no other.

SPOILERS ahead. You’ve been warned.

“Bat” and “Cat,” which Batman and Catwoman affectionately call each other, have been engaged for a few issues now. They’re in love and committed to each other, which is a nice change of pace for Batman, a character who has had his fair share of flings and dead-end relationships. Tom King and Joelle Jones appear to be testing the two’s thus far rock-solid relationship in Batman #39 via a big surprise ending.

As you can see in the panels below, Batman and Wonder Woman are off on an adventure for a very long time. Just Wonder Woman and Batman, nobody else (except for hordes of attacking monsters) and not much to do to pass the time. Hmm.

It’s not until the big cliffhanger ending that we learn no matter how deep the love… time can change everything.
