Battle For Azeroth, the seventh expansion pack for the enduringly popular World of Warcraft franchise, is now available for purchase on Blizzard’s online store. Blizzard announced they expect the game to be release on or before September 21, 2018.
Battle For Azeroth includes the ability to level characters to level 120, as well as the ability to create characters of one of six new “Allied Races” — Lightforged Draenei, Void Elves and Dark Iron Dwarves for Alliance, and Nightborne, Highmountain Tauren and Zandalari Trolls for Horde. All of them except for Dark Iron Dwarves and Zandalari Trolls will be available for play before BFA‘s release if you pre-purchase the expansion pack. Pre-purchasing also gives players access to a free boost to level 110 for one character.
Following the defeat of the Burning Legion on their home world of Argus, Battle For Azeroth shifts focus back to, well, Azeroth. The never-ending struggle for control between the Alliance and Horde is a central feature of the story, as the Horde controls almost all of Kalimdor following the burning of Teldrassil, while the Alliance makes a concerted effort to regain Lordaeron on the Eastern Kingdoms.
Another widely publicized feature that was announced at the same time as Battle For Azeroth was Classic servers, where players can experience WoW as it was in “vanilla” — the 1.x release of the game. There is still no word on when Classic servers will become available, or if you need a BFA license to play them.
The standard edition of the game will cost $50, while the deluxe edition runs $70. The deluxe edition includes loads of goodies for other Blizzard games, such as Alliance and Horde banners in Overwatch.
