Microsoft announces the Xbox Adaptive Controller

Designed primarily to meet the needs of gamers with limited mobility, the Xbox Adaptive Controller features large programmable buttons and connects to external switches, buttons, mounts, and joysticks to help make gaming more accessible.

The console war this generation is fantastic. From massive innovations like the Switch, to dynamic exclusives on the PS4, the creativity that the companies are using for new products are impressive. Xbox is playing quite a bit of catch up, but has managed to develop an amazing new peripheral that opens the doors to many more gamers. Introducing the Xbox Adaptive Controller:

This is a fantastic release, and one that I hope makes all the gaming companies out there sit up and pay attention. Ever since the elite controller with remappable buttons, Microsoft has been paying far more attention to gamers with disabilities, and this new controller shows they’re taking that to the fullest extreme. With the ability to map these larger inputs to joysticks, and other accessible options, this can open the door to many more gamers who will continue to easily hand me my face at Fortnite.

Great job Xbox.
