Emilia Clarke on filming Daenerys Targaryen’s final scene in ‘Game of Thrones’: “It fucked me up”

Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is…”

Emilia Clarke is a busy woman these days, and also one of the most well known in the entertainment world. In addition to playing Qi’ra, Han Solo’s childhood friend, in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, Clarke is of course best known as the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, on HBO’s smash hit series Game of Thrones. We’ll finally get to see the fate of Daenerys, Jon Snow and everybody else when Game of Thrones‘ final season finally begins on HBO in 2019, but here in 2018, we have a few nuggets of information to go off of.

In a recent cover story in Vanity Fair, Emilia Clarke talked about filming the final scenes involving the iconic character. “It fucked me up,” she told Vanity Fair. “Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is. . .”

Of course, Clarke also recently admitted none of them know how the show will actually end, as HBO is filming multiple endings in an effort to keep actors — and the world at large — in the dark. But being directly involved with some of the hottest properties in entertainment means she’s always just a little bit more in the know than everybody else. “Everything in my life is a spoiler,” she joked.
