Bethesda Press Conference Reveals Fallout 76 Details

Has Fallout moved online?

At the end of last month, Bethesda launched a 24 hour stream that had fans guessing what the franchise’s next entry would be. Fallout 3 or New Vegas remastered? The long rumored Fallout Online? Another Skyrim remake?

The stream lead to a teaser for Fallout 76. This in itself led to more questions. Would this be an online, co-op, or a spinoff. Todd Howard made a surprise appearance at the Xbox press conference today and revealed a trailer for the game. There was plenty of information about given (it will be set in West Virginia and is four times larger than Fallout 4) but other questions remained.

Some of those questions were answered during Bethesda’a press conference. After a tongue in cheek announcement of a new Skyrim port, Todd Howard spoke at length about the upcoming game. Fallout 76 will focus on base building and resource management. While Fallout 4 did include some of these mechanics, this is quite the departure for a Fallout game.

The biggest news is that Fallout 76 will be an online game. Though it will be possible to play solo. The game releases on November 14 of this year. How do you feel about Fallout moving online? Does this make you more excited?
