During the E3 PC Games showcase The Walking Dead fans and gamers alike received their first look at gameplay for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, the first person four-player co-operative shooter from Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment, and 505 Games. The presentation also revealed a November 8, 2018 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Previous trailers have showcased the four playable characters while illustrating the brutal, depressing, and desparate world of Zombie infested Washington, D.C. while this new release finally offers a glimpse of the first person combat mechanics of the game.
OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead may sound like a simple Left 4 Dead clone with a big license slapped on it, but the trailer above shows more diverse weapons, fleshed out characters, and a world where your most dangerous adversaries are not the bloodthirsty undead chasing you.
Inspired by Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels, OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four-player co-op multiplayer shooter in which players must band together on a variety of missions and raids to find survivors, secure supplies and stay alive. Use stealth to evade enemies tactically, or dismember walkers limb from limb with brute force and firepower. Each of the game’s four playable characters has their own special abilities, skill trees, squad roles, play styles and background stories.
The game releases for $59.99 on November 6, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Sorry Switch owners.
