Deadpool 2: Blu-ray extended cut to include X-Men villain Omega Red and 15 minutes of extra footage

That’s right, the Deadpool 2 | The Super Duper $@%!#& Cut sees Digital HD release on August 7th and 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on August 21st.

Among such requisite bonus features as gag reels, deleted/extended scenes and commentary from Ryan Reynolds, director David Leitch and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick comes a particularly interesting revelation from 20th Century Fox: an omitted scene entitled “Chess with Omega Red.”

Last seen squaring off against Deadpool in the pages of Deadpool #43, Omega Red is a powerful X-Men villain from the homeland of Deadpool’s close friend Colossus, Russia; created as a counterpart to Captain America, Red is equipped with a pair of Carbonadium tendrils which drain the life from their foes in addition to ensnaring and crushing them:

Is the “Chess with Omega Red” scene one that takes place during Deadpool’s prison tenure along the lines of his run-in with Black Tom Cassidy? Will the scene plant a seed for an upcoming Colossus enemy in future films?
