Blizzard teams with Tespa to bring World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth events to college campuses

Who says playing video games in college is a bad thing?

Blizzard has announced a partnership with Tespa that will bring World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth events to college campuses across North America. The games will begin this fall.

This isn’t the first time Blizzard has partnered with Tespa. At the beginning of August this year, the two companies announced a partnership to bring an Overwatch tournament to college campuses across North America. While this event isn’t a tournament, it still helps to bring gaming, esports and camaraderie to college campuses.

All approved Tespa chapter Campaign events will gain access to a Battle for Azeroth bundle customized for the Horde, Alliance or a combination or both. The bundles will include giveaways and a set of unique question cards for the event organizers.

Items included in the campaign giveaway:

  • World of Warcraft Alliance Pin
  • World of Warcraft Horde Pin
  • Battle for Azeroth Pop-up Display
  • World of Warcraft Glass Water Bottle
  • World of Warcraft Backpack

Event organizers can challenge attendees to activities themed around the latest expansion using the Battle for Azeroth quest cards that are included in all campaign bundles.

If you’d like to look for a chapter near you that’s hosting events, you’ll want to head over here. If your school doesn’t have its own chapter and there isn’t one that’s close to you, don’t worry! You can start your own chapter.

Tespa was founded in 2012 at the University of Texas, Austin with the goal of promoting collegiate gaming and host esport events and competitions across North America. Since 2012 Tespa has grown to include 102,000 thousands members at 270 chapters from across the United States and Canada. They currently support competitions for Rocket League, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft and StarCraft II.
