Humanoids, one of the biggest publishers releasing some of the wildest science fiction and fantasy graphic novels just upped its game big time. They have named–at this point legendary–creator Mark Waid to Director of Creative Development. This is a huge win for the publisher especially since they’ve been pushing new original series in the last year. Waid will surely bring a brand new focus to the company as well as utilize plenty of the networking he’s developed over his career.
This obviously excites Waid who has primarily been working as a writer for some time and he said, “I’ve seen what Humanoids is about to unleash, and it’s unlike anything else I’ve ever seen in this industry. I had to be a part of it. The chance to work closely with younger, diverse talent with strong voices–to learn as well as to teach–is electrifying.”
Humanoids also unveiled a new logo which you can see below.
Fans can learn all about the new direction at NYCC this year at the Humanoids 20th Anniversary In America panel on Friday, October 5 from 1:30-2:30 PM in room 1A02 of the Javits Center. Waid will appear via be pre-recorded video message for fans.
In advance of the panel, the company unveiled a logo for the publishing initiative and launched a new Twitter account. For more updates on Humanoids on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, as well as the newly launched H1 Twitter account.
