Stan Lee, the legendary comic book writer and former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, has died at the age of 95, according to TMZ. The report notes that an ambulance rushed to Lee’s Hollywood Hills home early Monday morning to transport him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Stan Lee’s contributions to the comic book world cannot be overstated. Dating as far back to the 1950s, Lee is responsible for creating or co-creating Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Doctor Strange, the X-Men, Black Panther, Iron Man, Thor, and countless others, all now household names and some of the most popular characters ever created.
Lee’s relationship with the publisher and his former business partners had become increasingly rocky in his later life, resulting in restraining orders and lawsuits. However, he has appeared in every Marvel movie in the form of a brief cameo.
Rest in peace to Stan Lee. The world will not be the same without the man who brought some of our favorite characters to life. Our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.
