WWE is always on the lookout for new talent and has never had any scruples about to find it. Their talent signings often make headlines and they’ll recruit anyone from anywhere — football players, models, body builders, mma fighters, actors, and of course, fellow wrestlers. But perhaps one of WWE’s most unique recruitment methods is reality shows.
WWE Tough Enough was WWE’s first attempt at recruiting new talent through their own homegrown reality show. The show first launched in 2001 and fans got to watch as contestants were put through the ringer by WWE veterans, with the surviving talent winning a WWE contract. Five more seasons followed the inaugural show, with the last premiering in 2015. And while the majority of contestants didn’t make the cut, there were some famous lasting recruits such as The Miz and John Morrison.
Then in 2003 WWE Diva Search was launched to find the next top WWE Diva and actually managed to land some of what became today’s top veterans, The Bellas Twins and Maryse Ouellet. The show had four seasons which lasted until 2007 and as of 2011 has been rumored to return several times. But with the death of the “diva” title for female talent in WWE, it just wouldn’t have a place in today’s product. So what if they just change the name?
It looks like that’s exactly what WWE is doing. Friday evening on Twitter they announced that they’ll be teaming up with Bunim-Murray Productions — the company behind Total Bellas and Total Divas — to find the next top female Superstar who “has what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Ronda Rousey, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.”
According to WWE.com casting is already underway for a forthcoming reality show that will document that company’s search for the next top female competitor.

WWE is directing individuals who think they have what it takes to Bunim-Murray.com for more information. Contestants must be 21 by March 2019 to apply.
