Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon are in talks for ‘Ghostbusters 3’

Reportedly playing mother and son.

It looks like the Ghostbusters know who they’re gonna call, as Variety report that Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon are in talks to join Ghostbusters 3. Wolfhard most notably plays Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, while Coon most recently played Proxima Midnight in Infinity War.

Sony wouldn’t comment on details of the plot, though Variety writes the film will focus on a single mother and her family. According to this, Coon would be playing the mother, while Wolfhard would be playing her son.

Seemingly, director Jason Reitman might have been cautious about using anyone from Stranger Things, due to some similarities between it and Ghostbusters. However, he and executives were ”blown away” by Wolfhard’s audition.

Ghostbusters 3 is set to release 10th July, 2020.
