Scott Snyder confirms a Swamp Thing story with Greg Capullo is in the cards. Maybe

Will Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo be working on Swamp Thing after Last Knight on Earth?

On today’s Comics Podcast I talked to Scott Snyder about many things, from the latest run on Justice League and how it all built up to this moment, creator-owned books coming out this year and so much more. One detail he shared was about a potential Swamp Thing book Greg Capullo let slip at Fan Expo Boston 2018 that is in the works.

On our podcast, Snyder talked Swamp Thing saying, “We have an idea. I have a story that I didn’t get to do that is really big and fun and he [Greg Capullo] really wants to draw.” Snyder said right now he and Capullo are wrapping up their last Batman story currently being drawn by Capullo called Last Knight on Earth and that the art is about 60 pages away from done. That series comes out in May, July and September and from there the opportunity to work on Swamp Thing is possible.

“After that, we are either going to start big stuff with DC or–he wants to finish The Creetch, that’s a three issue gig–and also I have a creator-owned idea called Infernal Machines that I want to do with him that I think will be very badass.”

Based on this and so much more that he said on the podcast it’s unclear whether the Swamp Thing story will be made this year or next, or maybe even further down the line. Regardless, Snyder has a lot of ideas and work planned for the future. You can listen to Snyder talk about all that work here.
