Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.
In the recent 10-part “X-Men Disassembled” event, X-Man worked to ensure the hellish Age of Apocalypse he escaped from never came to pass in the Marvel Universe we all know and love. Well, X-Man’s off in his own reality and sadly, one of the last remaining X-Men just got a little closer to his AoA counterpart.
Out today, Uncanny X-Men #15 continues Scott Summers’ quest to save mutants. Midway through the issue (I highly recommend you read the entire issue to get the whole story), Scott attempts to stop Hope from assassinating an anti-mutant politician named Ms. Prestel.
While Weapon X was responsible for clawing out Prelate Summers’ eye in the AoA, it’s actually his granddaughter Hope who accidentally shoots out one of Cyclops’ deadly eyeballs.
Later Wolverine takes out Hope and he quite literally loses his face. You might be wondering if Cyclops really did lose the eye and become a literal cyclops and it appears it’s a wound that won’t go away.
If Dark Beast can be trusted, it appears Cyclops has lost the eye and taken a step closer to becoming his AoA counterpart. That said, he did come back to life so what is replenishing one eye, really?
You can read Uncanny X-Men #15 today.
