Disney Studios have popular properties such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, and PIxar. The media juggernaut has a seemingly bottomless well of stories they can draw from. One of the more controversial decisions has been adapting some of its most beloved animated films into live action movies.

One remake that seems to have been met with almost universal anticipation is The Lion King. The 1994 animated original is a classic that many people grew up with and have fond memories of. It also spawned a popular franchise. The all star cast for the 2019 version includes Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, and Beyonce. James Earl Jones also returns and reprises his role as Mufasa.

Today, a new trailer for The Lion King was released. The trailer shows off some beautiful CGI effects. There are also some character redesigns for long time fans to discuss.

The Lion King is scheduled to be released July 19, 2019.
