DC’s Walmart Giants coming to comic shops this July

As three six-issue mini-series!

Here’s some great news for anyone who hasn’t been able to track down the 100 Page DC Giants: Though they’ll continue to be at Walmart stores, including upcoming ones, DC has recently confirmed a number of the original stories that featured in them will now release as three six-issue mini-series each month.

Each issue will feature two chapters, with three mini-series starting in July. Superman: Up in the Sky will begin July 3rd, written by Tom King (Mister Miracle) and illustrated by Andy Kubert and Sandra Hope. Here’s the plot: “Following a home invasion that ends in murder, Superman is put on the trail of a Metropolis mystery by Batman – but can even the Man of Steel discover the truth behind these tragic deaths, or their ties to the far-off world of Rann?”

Batman Universe #1 releases 10th July, written by Brian Bendis (Young Justice) and illustrated by Nick Derington. Here’s the story: “Following the theft of a Fabergé egg, the Riddler leads The Dark Knight on a wild hunt after it’s true owner: Jinny Hex, a descendant of the haunted Western hero Jonah Hex. Deathstroke, Green Arrow and some of the brightest stars in the DC Universe will join The Dark Knight on the chase to find this treasure!”

Finally, Wonder Woman: Come Back to Me begins 17th July, written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti (Harley Quinn) and illustrated by Chad Hardin. Here’s the story: “When Steve Trevor is called in for a test flight of an experimental new aircraft, he winds up lost in the Bermuda Triangle – and it’s up to Wonder Woman and Etta Candy to follow his trail to a mysterious and savage island.”

Superman: Up in the Sky has new cover art from Andy Kubert, while Batman Universe’s cover is illustrated by Nick Derington and Wonder Woman: Come Back to Me has new cover art from Amanda Conner. Be sure to check ’em out come July.
