Sonic the Hedgehog‘s release date has been pushed back to February 14, 2020, director Jeff Fowler confirmed on Twitter.

This should come as no surprise, as following fan backlash stemming from Sonic’s appearance in the movie, the studio decided to completely redesign the character in an effort to make him more faithful to the video games. Since the movie was ostensibly nearly finished with a November 2019 release date, this was obviously a huge undertaking. And one that will apparently require three more months of prep time.
Is the team behind Sonic the Hedgehog making the right decision here? Is giving Sonic’s appearance a second go worth it, or should they have tried to meet the original release date? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
