Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.
In the fight against Dr. Fate in Justice League Dark, writer James Tynion IV and Alvaro Martinez Bueno explore new realms thanks to the chaotic rules of magic. A big part of issue #12 involves Wonder Woman and Batman discussing those rules. Batman is concerned — as he should be, when we find out the transformation Swamp Thing, Man-Bat, Wonder Woman, Detective Chimp, and Zatanna go through to defeat Dr. Fate.

As the epic battle unfolds and we witness these transformed heroes fighting, the heroes break the fourth wall and literally tear panels apart. Cool!
They aren’t stuck in these forms though, as once Dr. Fate is defeated they change back.
In the closing pages, we learn the heroes tore magic apart and it’s up to Zatanna to fix it. I won’t spoil the ending, but it’s up to another hero to make things right.
