The news first hit the internet in February, but new details have been released regarding the upcoming animated Gremlins television series. Warner Media’s streaming service will be releasing the 10 episode series and it will serve as a prequel to the 1984 comedy horror film.
TzeChun, the writer of the series, will also serve as co-producer. Warner Brothers will be working alongside Amblin entertainment to produce the series.

Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai will center around young boy Sam Wing and his fantastic adventures in the Chinese countryside. The series will depict how Sam Wing, or Mr. Wing, the shopkeeper played by Keye Luke in the film, came to meet Gizmo. In addition, new characters will join Sam as they embark on quests involving monsters, gremlins, and other creatures.
1984’s Gremlins has earned a place in movie history due to its ability to entertain a wide variety of audiences. It’s seen as a horror film, a comedy film, a family film, and a Christmas film. Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai sounds inventive and will surely be worth checking out for fans of the films.
