Immortal Hulk has been one of the biggest surprises from Marvel Comics and it only seems to get better with every issue. In the latest issue, we learn early on the Gamma energy may not be scientific, but instead an “emanation of the divine.” Some kind of energy of the gods and it’s evil. This seems to come full circle at the very end of the issue when Bruce stands on a floating piece of rock and a voice calls out to him.
The voice then speaks of Geburah and Golachab.
Geburah, strength, is the fifth sephirah in the kabbalistic tree of life. I’m a bit fuzzy on this, but from my understanding, Golachab can inspire anarchy but that Geburah is the reflexion of Golachab. There is a ying and a yang thing going on here! The question appears to be asking Bruce if he is strength or chaos. Is he the reflection Hulk needs him to be? Who is the voice, you might be asking?
The text not seen above reads “Metatron.” This is a rarely unused character in the Marvel universe. It is literally the Voice of God and an angel. The Marvel fandom wiki points out that, “He was described as cruel and merciless by Morgan le Fay.” Considering Bruce has been literally to Hell in this series and now an angel is speaking to him this might be a good thing and a positive new direction for him. Or, if we are to believe Morgan le Fay, Bruce is in big trouble.
This is only a sliver of the story. I highly recommend you read the whole issue!
