Watch: Teaser trailer for ‘Jojo Rabbit’

From the ‘visionistical’ Taika Waititi.

It was shown at the Toronto Film Festival and this morning Taika Waititi posted it to this Instagram account. We finally have a teaser trailer for Jojo Rabbit, a satirical film about Hitler. Waititi is the self proclaimed “visionistical” director and screenwriter of this comedy drama.

Based on the novel by Christine Leunens, Young Jojo, played by Roman Griffin Davis, finds an imaginary friend in Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi). Jojo adapts to childhood and deals with the fact his mother is hiding a Jewish woman in their home.

Jojo Rabbit looks promising and full of heart and laughter. Fans of Waititi have seen him deftly intertwine silliness with deep human emotion before in films like Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Boy, and Eagle vs Shark.

It was recently announced that Waititi will direct Thor: Love and Thunder, the follow up to Thor: Ragnarok.

Jojo Rabbit also stars Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Thomasin McKenzie, and Stephen Merchant. The film will be released by Fox Searchlight Pictures on October 18th.
