Watch: Trailer for ‘Harriet’

Focus Features releases the trailer for ‘Harriet.’

Director Kasi Lemons brings the story of Harriet Tubman, leader of the Underground Railroad, to life in the newly released trailer for Harriet.  Starring Cynthia Erivo and Janelle Monáe, the trailer depicts Harriet Tubman in full heroic glory.

Erivo, who plays Harriet, is seen running for freedom as she makes her way up North. Full of action, danger, and Erivo looking totally badass, the trailer shows Harriet’s mission to save others not just herself.

Everyone learns about Harriet Tubman in school, but this is the first time this historical figure gets featured on the big screen with the full cinematic experience. The Focus Features film about the freedom fighter hits theaters November 1st.
