Watch: Trailer for ‘The Lighthouse’

The Lighthouse hits theaters October 18, 2019.

The Lighthouse premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this past May and received praise from both audiences and critics. A24 studios has just released a new trailer for The Lighthouse and it looks ominously captivating.

Listen to the latest episode of our weekly movies podcast, Adventures in Movies!

Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson play two men tasked with living and working in a lighthouse. Dark and gritty, the trailer features the stone faces of Dafoe and Pattinson staring out as a sinister soundtrack blares over the actions of the men. It appears the film tells the story of two men who are isolated for too long,  forging bonds, animosities, and losing their minds.

Robert Eggers, director of the 2015 horror film The Witch, directs this new psychological horror. He co-wrote the film with his brother Max.

The Lighthouse hits theaters October 18, 2019.
