Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men magnum opus continues this week with House of X #3. In it, we learn what Cyclops’ latest mission is and a bit more about Master Mold too. For those linguists out there though we hit the motherload as Hickman explains the history of Krakoan.
We first saw the language in the books themselves in House of X #1 when one of the Stepford Cuckoo’s is showing some diplomats around.
They may think it’s gibberish, but X-Men fans know better. While fans have been able to crack the code it’s not until House of X #3 that we get the full picture. Featured in the back matter, Krakoan is detailed best if you read the excerpt below.
Up until this issue, a few of the mysterious letters did not yet have a 1:1 correspondence with the alphabet. We can now rest easy knowing all 26 letters and their Krakoan translation:
Now fans of all types can spell out their name, translate their favorite passages, and go to the zoo fully knowing how Xavier would spell it out.
