Though it can be exciting to see how a character starts out, it can also be just as thrilling to see how their story ends. Starting in 2002, Marvel has explored that very notion with characters like Hulk, X-Men, Punisher and the Fantastic Four. Now they’re set to continue with a series of The End one-shots, as announced at New York Comic-Con.
Starting next January Marvel is set to release Captain Marvel: The End, Miles Morales: The End, Captain America: The End, Deadpool: The End, Doctor Strange: The End and Venom: The End.
The End one-shots we’re looking forward to most: Jessica Jones’ Kelly Thompson and Gambit: Thieves’ World’ Georges Jeanty form the creative team for Captain Marvel: The End, whose synopsis reads: “Fifty years ago, Carol Danvers went into the deepest reaches of the cosmos to spread peace and justice and she hasn’t seen a familiar face since.”
Savage Dragon’s Erik Larsen takes on Captain America: The End, where “Steve Rogers fights for survival in a post-apocalyptic wasteland populated by Red Skulls.” Empowered’s Adam Warren and RandomVeus‘ Jeffrey Cruz sling into Venom: The End, “a tale that literally spans over a trillion years, Venom travels the length of space and time as the last defender of life in the universe.”
The End One-Shots hit shelves this January.
