Disney’s Hollywood Studios Star Tours – The Adventure Continues ride will receive a Rise of Skywalker update on December 20 to bring it in line with current canon.
First launched in 1987, Star Tours took fans on a wild ride to the forest moon of Endor during the events surrounding Return of the Jedi in the original trilogy. It was the first Disney ride to feature a non-Disney licensed IP.
The last update to Star Tours was nine years ago in 2010 when content was added to bring riders to a period of time between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
As with the previous editions of Star Tours, the pilot of the Starspeeder 1000 remains C-3PO and his trusty navigator, R2D2. Some of the new locations added include Jakku, Crait, Batuu, and the ocean moon Kef Bir, as seen in the Rise of Skywalker trailers.
The new update for Star Tours will launch on Dec 20, the same day Rise of Skywalker hits theaters across North America.
