The Fiend wins Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel

Saudi Arabian Horror Story.

“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defeated Seth Rollins to become the new Universal Champion this afternoon at Crown Jewel.

The two battled at the event’s main event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The match took both competitors all over the ringside and rampway areas, resulting in multiple broken tables, eight Stomps from incumbent champion to challenger, and a pyrotechnic malfunction. The Fiend was thrown into the pyro area, setting off fireworks and flames, but to Rollins’ surprise, was unscathed. He then surprised Rollins with a Mandible Claw and a Sister Abigail to come away with the Universal Championship.

It should be noted that this now means both the WWE Championship and Universal Championship are property of Friday Night SmackDown, as WWE Champion Brock Lesnar defended his world title against Cain Velasquez in short order to kick off the show. How they will rectify Raw being left without a world championship remains to be seen, but Bray Wyatt is set to be a guest on Miz TV during tomorrow night’s episode of SmackDown, so we may get some answers then.
