Sonic the Hedgehog looks way less horrifying in the movie’s new trailer

At least he actually looks like Sonic now.

Sonic the Hedgehog was supposed to come out this month, but fan backlash resulting from his bizarre appearance in early trailers caused the production team and director Jeff Fowler to take another stab at it, ultimately pushing back the movie’s release date to February 2020.

Today, we got our first look at the new and improved Fastest Thing Alive, and thankfully, he looks way more like his video game counterpart. The trailer also gives a more in-depth look at the movie’s storyline: Sonic left his home planet of Mobius because people were “always after [his] powers,” so he is hiding out on Earth. He eventually raises the ire of Doctor Robotnik (Jim Carrey), who is determined to uncover the source of Sonic’s power.

Check out the trailer below:

Sonic the Hedgehog hits theaters February 14, 2020.
